It’s all GAS!

Yup, it’s been crazy… had gone thru another phase of GASing… it never ends and it never will!! 🙂

From a PT Pro to a PT1 and now to a PT Jr. From  a multi effect to Analog pedals to hybrid setup to an analog setup again, it’s been fun. And at least I’d learnt much!

1st Setup:
Guitar > Boss GT6 > Fender Blues Jr

PT Pro Setup: Can’t remember much of it! I had quite a few dirt pedals at one time (not all on the board): Boss OD3, Tim V1, G2D Creamtone, BB Preamp, Jetter Gainstage Blue, Jetter Gainstage Red, MI Audio Crunchbox > Voodoo Lab Tremolo > Boss DD20 > EB Jr Vol powered by a T-Rex Classic. Wired with George L patches.

GUITARS

PT 1 Setup: BB Preamp > Jetter GSR > TC Electronic Nova System > EB Jr Vol > Mesa Boogie Lonestar Special

Current Setup:
PT Jr: Bearfoot HBOD > Bearfoot DRD > Suhr Riot > Xotic EP Booster > Voodoo Lab Trem > Strymon El Capistan > TC Electronic Flashback (buffer on) > EB Jr Vol > Egnater Rebel 20 Head + 112X Cab. Wired with Lava Mini ELC patch cables

My Board May 2011

Guitars That’d Passed Thru (chronologically)
1) Fender 50th Anniversary Deluxe (sold) – hated the frets, they were overdressed like trapeziums
2) Paul Reed Smith McCarty Rosewood
2) Suhr Standard with Braz board (sold) – hated the flat radius then
3) Paul Reed Smith Semi-Hollow Singlecut
4) Paul Reed Smith Hollowbody 1 Artist
5) Fender 1959 John Cruz Masterbuilt
6) Schroeder Chopper (Build yet to commence)
7) Thorn G/T Koa top, Korina B/S (Incoming May/Jun 2011)

GAS to come! Someday, maybe….
1) Eventide SPACE
2) Jackson Ampworks Britain 3.0
3) Analogman KOT (on order, wait time approx 24 months)
4) BJFE PGC (on order, wait time approx 4-6 months)
5) Vovox Sonorus Protect A cables
6) Knaggs Choptank (Tier 3 would do)
7) Thorn Artisan (am on the list, but the wait’s apparently 3-5 years)
8) Gretsch Masterbuilt Penguin (normal penguins have lousy vintage frets) – Would have to be Red sparkle top, black neck with black sparkle binding, TV Jones T-Armonds/Dynasonic pickups, Gold bigsby, Satin neck w/ 6150 frets, White leather Cowboy Case

And it all goes zooooom.

Decided to see if my blog is still up and running coz in some distant galaxy I’d lived for the past 5 months or so! Then while I was editing a website, pops! came the memory that I’d not written in my blog for the longest.

Everything changed since 22 October 2010. I became a daddy, to my beautiful daughter, Giselle.

You know when every other parent says that they grow up so fast, it’s all true. From a little bub, she is now smiling and mumbling, from needing to be coaxed to sleep to wanting to fall asleep on her own, every single little development just shows time had passed, second by second, minute by minute.

I remember the first few weeks was tough! The lack of sleep, the constant feeding (30ml seemed like 30litres! to feed!), the frustration from the constant crying that happens at anytime, the puking. And then followed on by signs of reflux/colic for the next few weeks. It was indeed a test of love and patience 🙂

But all in all, we thank God for a happy baby! She’s fun and playful all the time (minus the feeding time). She responsive, attentive and bright eyed 🙂 She’d never fallen sick for the past 5 months, had learnt to sleep through the night by 3 months, and learnt to sleep on her own at 4 months, I would say she’s a pretty good baby!

The early days had us worrying about her jaundice – she had a rare breastmilk jaundice which lasted for 2 months, she had a broken collar bone when she was delivered by 4 Filipino midwives, one looking like a rugby player (of whom helped push (literally) BabyG out). Then while her height is floating at the 95% percentile, her weight was at the 25% percentile which got us worried, looking at the babies around us 😦

We learnt something – while we do our best to take care of our baby, there’s only One that causes the growth and development of our child 🙂 And what more then to just trust that He will take good care of her 🙂

And it begins…

As it is, it is D-day! Am in the delivery room now at TMC awaiting dilation and arrival of our princess. Arrived here to start induction at 11pm, got upgraded to the most expensive room cos full house, went home at 2pm, left home at 7am. Gynae broke wifey’s waterbag at 8am and now we wait 😉

Did one of those silly autogenerated pix of our kid by uploading our pix and it was hilarious! We shall see!

Later!

Time flies too quickly

Indeed it does. Realised that there was no updates since my last post in June! A quick recap of what’d happened in the past month:

  1. Our Lil’ Bear is a girl! We’d chosen the names Giselle and 俪惠 for Lil’ Bear!
  2. All’s looking good in all the scans and checkups showing good growth. She is now 900g heavy (as of 23 July)
  3. We had been attending Pre/Ante-Natal classes held by Baby Guru Mdm Wong Boh Boi. She is indeed knowledgeable and really funny! Lessons will be on all the way to due date!
  4. Had done a recent High Key ICT with regular time-off from my S4 and CSS cell to be with wifey thru this time. Am glad there’s much flexibility. A really relaxed ICT and had a good time meeting and re-aquainting with people that will be spending the next few years in the unit with.
  5. We are currently in Phuket for our babymoon, at Aleenta Phuket for a time to relax and chill out before Giselle arrives. We got ourselves a loft-type room and planned to just unwind.

The Great Reveal

Time flies, it’s been a good almost 4 weeks since our last checkup… and today’s gonna be a full detailed scan! No escaping this time – Barbies or Transformers???

Parenthood for 1st time parents ain’t a joke… the amount of $, information, unknown is far and beyond, and that’s for 1 kid. I really throw my hat off for those with 4 🙂

After today, we’ll be doing quite a spat of shopping for Lil’ Bear. As usual, wifey being a designer needs colours to be coordinated. Universal, neutral colours won’t cut it.

Till later. Now, perhaps the iPhone 4 will be a good investment, for those waiting times ahead…

In The Dark. Stillness. Orange.

Was at our “Deeper” (aka City Church Worship Team gathering) last night. A new form of worship experience. Frankly, it was kinda funny when it started, worshipping with mp3 tracks with no lyrics, but the Holy Spirit took control. The moment hit when Kent Henry came on, the old songs with the prophetic movement and free worship, and God brought back memories of simple intimacy when I was much younger; the times when I had the lights off and my discman on, and I was worshipping and enjoying His presence. God is amazing at bringing us back to where we should be at…

I saw the room being basked in orange, like a warm sunset, with a cool breeze passing through. God has been showing me that His presence need not always to be a big hoo-ha, it can be a calm, soothing motion, akin to the wind. Just pay a tad of attention and we will feel it always.

Time to spend more time with my ipod, just enjoying His presence. God’s going to do something new in this church, with a new anointing and a new understanding of worship that the team will bring.

Not too late to jump in and be part of something new 🙂

Lil’ Shy Bear

This week was a busy week, and also a great week.

In-laws are down this week and our scheduled check on Weds. Was looking to finding out if Lil’ Bear’s a boy or gal, since at 16 weeks, we could determine, if he/she’s co-orperative. So in-laws came along. And guess what, our naughty bear sat cross legged, blocking any remote view of finding out. 1st scan, no chance, and since our gynae forgot to take a pic, we did a second scan, and Lil’ Bear crossed his/her legs even more. Naughty. 1 more month to the next scan, which will be a detailed scan so there will be no escape 🙂

Jon & Jane had better views, and as it turned out, instead of a little gal, she turned out to be a boy! Throughout the pregnancy till Weds, they had dreams, people telling them/feeling that it will be a gal, and when the “scanner” told them it was a boy for sure, it took them completely by surprise 🙂 Seems like we have a godson in the making 🙂

Cool week, busy week… Lil’ Bear’s cheeky or shy, we shall see!

Light Refreshing Rain

Last night at the prayer meeting, I saw myself sitting in the midst of people, with light rain falling. It’s that sort of rain that will not get you wet within 3 minutes, and that you will not notice it if you do not really pay attention on it. The Spirit spoke and said that many times, I want to experience downpours, like those I’d experience before. Time to time, we ask God for an encounter and He sweeps us away with a torrent. Then we feel “dry and parched” and ask for the river to flow again. Then I realise, that God’s refreshing rain is always there. Enough to soak if you spend time in it, enough to refresh when we need it – in fact, refreshing us while we do not feel or know it. But if we focus and squint our eyes, we can see the light rain coming down upon. In times of stillness, tiredness, tough times, good times, times of great blessing and favor, that rain falls on us.

Know, that there are times when it pours, but the rest of the time, light rain’s there all the time.

God is good.

Sunday’s Coming

After laughing at the video, I realise this is how I’d accepted church to be too. Time to revisit what church is about – God’s presence, and my life taking that in on Sunday, and for the rest of the week, letting that presence flow wherever I go.

Church

Chanced upon this clip posted by a friend on FB. Timely reminder, a great paradigm shift.

Love God, Love People. That’s what church is all about.
